Choosing a sprinkler system can be tricky, but if you do a bit of research you will soon realise that it won’t be necessary to dig up your whole garden. There are simpler options that will make the job a whole lot easier.

Your home lawn and -garden does not require the same industrial sprinkler systems commonly used on farms and other commercial food growing locations. When choosing your garden irrigation system, the first thing you should do is determine the size of the area that requires watering - this will serve to inform your choice. The three most commonly used irrigation systems are:

  1. The Tripod sprinkler. This system is planted firmly on the ground and the height is adjustable.
  2. The Pop-up sprinkler. This type of sprinkler is more costly and entails digging into your garden during installation, but it also has its advantages (e.g. it is out of sight- and striking distance when not in use).
  3. The Drip irrigation system. Drip irrigation is a good choice in dry regions with scarce water resources, as it is a highly efficient and economical method of watering. It reduces runoff and evaporation, and is especially suited for the watering of vegetable- and perennial gardens, flower bulbs, as well as trees and shrubs.

Those who prefer to go the manual route should have a look at our extensive selection of hoses, hose organizers, sprinklers, sprayers and watering cans - perfect for those hands-on jobs.
